DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION STRATEGY FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION
Pooraka Primary School engages young people in learning and teaching that is underpinned by the Department of Education Strategy for Public Education.
Educators and staff work in partnership with families and communities to nurture, develop and empower all South Australian children and young people with the knowledge, skills and capabilities they need to become fulfilled individuals, active, compassionate citizens and lifelong learners.
Our site is safe, inclusive, and collaborative – a place where every child and young person is encouraged to contribute, develops positive relationships, and has a say in their learning.

At Pooraka Primary School, our 3 main priorities for whole site improvement includes:
- Literacy – Phonics/Spelling and Spelling and Morphology
- Student Wellbeing through a trauma informed lens
- South Australian Curriculum – dispositions throughout learning
